Official ‘Scream’ Season 2 Trailer Hints At More Death And New Horrors

Scream has solidified itself as the best slasher series on television, and we’ll soon return to Lakewood for a glimpse at the lives of our favorite characters/survivors.

MTV has released a few promotional videos to hype up the second season of Scream, but we have finally been given a chance to see some of what’s to come — and here’s a hint: it’s a lot of death. Season 2 of Scream takes place three months after the events of the first season with Emma returning to her hometown to be welcomed by the group of friends who became close-knit after luckily making it out alive. We see that life continues for the teens, with Jake and Brooke finally recognizing their adorable compatibility and a few new faces to add to the fray. Of course, nothing in Scream is quite so simplistic — showcasing Audrey targeted by a new murderer (who also accuses her of being Piper’s partner). Emma is dealing with flashbacks or possibly repressed memories, also including a mention of Troy James (we asked the former showrunners about this potential direction at SDCC 2015).

Situations begin to create concern for a few of the fan-favorite characters in the second season, showing Jake in very dire circumstances with a voiceover of his cries for help. Conversely, Brooke is shown drenched in blood while letting out a scream but is later shown to be clearly traumatized by whatever events are in motion. I can’t fathom the idea of losing either strong characters, but something tells me we should be prepared for devastation. Kieran isn’t as present in the trailer — causing me to wonder if there will be a larger role for the mysteriously lovable boyfriend of Emma. The killer looks to up the ante from Season 1 by previewing multiple deaths that could lead to a graphic and gut-wrenching loss for a central figure. If anything, I’m only getting more excited for Scream’s season premiere on Monday May 30th, so catch up on Season 1 via MTV and watch the new glorious trailer below!

First Look At The Action Packed ‘Wonder Woman’ Footage

wonder woman

I’m going out on a limb and say that the upcoming DC film Wonder Woman could be a triumphant powerhouse of a superhero movie – and we don’t even have an official trailer yet. During the CW primetime special titled DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League, we received a first look at footage for the Wonder Woman standalone movie that is currently filming. During the special, it was stated that the film will take an active look at the history of Wonder Woman because her history is often overshadowed by her comrades Batman and Superman. This would certainly mean we can expect the elaborate island of Themyscira to (finally) be shown and the mass amount of amazons that exude strength in every way possible.

In the teaser footage, Wonder Woman is shown battling multiple foes, and preparing to strike with her sword while riding a horse (so she can’t fly just yet?) Even though there isn’t much to see, we learn that Diana Prince has decided to aid mankind, despite her Amazonian allies hesitations. It will be interesting to see the character’s origin story depicted in the film, and her relationships with individuals she was separated from since creation. The timeline for the first film will be over the course of World War I with the comic book love interest Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, and the iconic character (and mother of Diana Prince) Queen Hippolyta, played by The Following star Connie Nielsen. In addition to Gal Gadot and the other two lead characters, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, and Lucy Davis have also been confirmed to star in the Wonder Woman film. Check out the newly released teaser reel below, and prepare for a massive DC film takeover during the next few years!

Wonder Woman’s filming is currently underway, and we can expect it to arrive to theaters sometime in 2017!

Secret ‘Cloverfield’ Sequel Releases An Intense Debut Trailer

10 cloverfield lane

So it’s very rare that films can pull of any genuine surprises with the wonders of social media spoilers surfacing months in advance, but one film has done the impossible… and that is a sequel to the 2008 film Cloverfield. Yes, you read that right – there will be an upcoming sequel to the found footage monster flick by J.J. Abrams, and the major revelation is that there is already a trailer! The film comes as a major shock, previously known as a movie titled The Cellar to throw people off the beast’s trail, and it was clearly an effective approach that is fitting given the “top secret” elements of the original film.

Paramount Pictures told Collider about the concept, saying,  “The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.” The title mentioned is 10 Cloverfield Lane and stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher Jr. who are shown in the trailer to be locked in a bunker with tension amongst the three. The first Cloverfield film was one of the most iconic monster films ever made, along with the insanely creative marketing campaign that had me over analyzing hints of a sequel for years after the film’s release. (Clearly falling into the uber-geek category for the last eight years)

The first film left off with the possible destruction and bombing of New York City, so I’d assume that the state of the world will be left ambiguous for as long as possible – with more thriller aspects thrown in to add additional mystery to the Cloverfield world. The film has a release date of March 11th, 2016 which means we only have to wait two more months before we witness the “blood relative” of the infamous film. I realize this is improbable, but is anyone else hoping to somehow discover Rob survived the events of the first film? Check out the shocking new trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane below!
